We hereby present some guidance to foreigners who are willing to invest in Brazil.

REGISTER AND REMITTANCE OF FOREIGN CAPITAL

All foreign capital that enters Brazil must be registered in the Central Bank of Brazil; this registration is essential for future transfer of profit abroad and repatriation of capital, for example.

The registration of foreign capital must be carried out through the RDE – IDE method (Electronic declaration register – Direct external investment), which integrates the Central Bank data system – Sisbacen (Brazilian Central Bank Electronic Declaratory Registry for Direct – RDE – IED – Investments).

In general, there are no limitations regarding profit distribution and its consequent remittance abroad. The transfers related to profits must also register their destination through the RDE – IED method.

Brazil has signed Treats to avoid dual taxation with the following countries: Sweden, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Austria, Luxemburg, Italy, Argentina, Canada, Ecuador, Holland, The Philippines, France, Korea, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, India, China, Chile and Israel.
